After spending two decades in Hollywood, writing TV scripts for shows ranging from Gilligan's Island to Columbo, Gene Thompson started writing mystery novels. His favorite character was Dade Cooley, a folksy attorney who is a cross between Matlock and Jessica Fletcher (although Cooley was around before either of them). Cooley's toughest case is the aptly named Murder Mystery, a complicated whodunnit involving high end art theft, multiple murders, and an ending that includes one unexpected twist after another.
